On Monday 9th February, our Assistant Provincial Grand Master, WBro. John Porter, attended County Palatine Lodge No. 156 for their Installation meeting. WBro. Porter was accompanied by a deputation of ten Provincial officers.
The evening saw WBro. Roderick Geeson take the chair of the Lodge for the 5th time and he was just as proud to sit in that chair this evening as the previous four occasions.
WBro. Geeson was quick to praise one particular member when investing his officers for the evening. WBro. Colin Hill was retiring as treasurer of the Lodge, an office he has held for over twenty five years! However, his work in the Lodge is not done just yet, for he was invested as Senior Warden!
The address to the Master was delivered by WBro. Barry Heale, the address to the Wardens by WBro. Graham Mangham and the address to the Brethren by our Assistant Provincial Grand Master himself, WBro. John Porter.
County Palatine Lodge No. 156 was consecrated in September 1872 making it over 150 years old. Whilst the Lodge may be small in numbers right now, they are big in heart and the camaraderie and close brotherhood could clearly be seen and felt in the Lodge room. There was plenty of laughter throughout the meeting which made for a very enjoyable evening for all.
County Palatine meet on the second Monday in February (Installation), May and November. They meet at Stanley House in Audenshaw. A temple well known within the Province with great transport links and parking for those that want to drive.
