Double Delight for Forward Thinking Lodge

Union Mark Lodge No. 32 is another Lodge in The Province of East Lancashire who have been through a transformation within the last 12 months. They knew they had to change something to attract new members and start to see a higher attendance at their meetings. The members decided to change their Tyling time to a lunchtime and have since seen membership double! The members knew this was a risk, but a risk worth taking and it has truly paid off.

In their latest meeting, our Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master was in attendance with a deputation of his officers. It was a very special moment for the Lodge, as he not only took the chair from W.Bro. Howard Nuttall, but Advanced two new Mark Master Masons! As expected, the ceremony was delivered in spectacular fashion, with much fun and camaraderie, whilst also highlighting the very poignant teachings of the Mark Degree. Our Provincial Grand Master also took it upon himself to deliver the working tools to the new Mark Brothers as well – this is a ceremony they will never forget.

A very jovial social board followed and the two new Mark Master Masons were delighted with their ceremony and highlighted how they were wanting to join the Mark and the new Tyling time of the Lodge couldn’t have worked out better for them.

We actively encourage The Lodges within our Province to start “thinking outside the box” when it comes to membership and attendance. It is worth making those tough decisions and taking risks to ensure the Lodge thrives and grows under a new direction. Congratulations to Union Mark Lodge No. 32 – we believe they will go from strength to strength and we’re already looking forward to their next Advancement ceremony!
